VEJA has been creating sneakers in a different way, mixing social projects, economic justice, and ecological materials.

Using Brazilian and Peruvian organic cotton for the canvas and laces, Amazonian rubber for the soles, and various innovative materials conceived in recycled plastic bottles or recycled polyester.
Produced in high-standard factories in Brazil.

COTTON:

VEJA buys organic cotton directly from producers.
Respecting fair trade principles before weaving it into the canvas, laces and uppers used for most styles.

The price of cotton is mutually agreed upon in advance with the
families. This was, farmers always know how much they'll make
per kilo, paying 50% of the harvest to support the communities.

RUBBER

One of the main raw materials for VEJA is Amazonian rubber.

This material is used in the sole of every sneaker. The rubber
is purchased directly from cooperatives formed by families of
rubber tappers.

VEJA started working with 200 new families of producers and
built a monitoring system to analyze deforestation rates and
provide bonus payments for families that are conserving the
Amazon Rainforest.

UPCYCLING:

Using plastic bottles, recycled cotton, recycled polyester, VEJA
gives household waste a second life by creating a range of fabrics
to use in production.

VEJA is the first sneaker brand to use fabric entirely made
from recycled plastic bottles and recycled polyester.

B-Mesh:
Made out of 100% recycled polyester, coming from recycled
plastic bottles shredded into flakes and transformed into fibres.
Light, breathable and waterproof. Made in Brazil.

CWL:
A vegan and bio-based material that is used as an
ecological alternative to leather. Made in Italy.

Chemical Transparency:
Continuously analyzing the chemical safety of out sneakers
to ensure they do not contain toxic or pollution elements.
